Confession is good for the soul

Much as I love to be right - and knowledgeable and on top of things.........I'm not ALWAYS right (usually tho. Ask my Mr.) But, truth be told, I know nothing about setting up and writing a blog. So that 1st post? It was practice. How was I supposed to know it would get published? I suppose because I clicked on the "publish post" button? sheesh. Who knew? Well, I am nothing if not persistent so I will charge ahead.

Some friends have asked why I don't start a blog (you know who you are!) and I always reply that I don't have anything to say. I'm afraid it will turn out the opposite, but we'll see, won't we? But that's the beauty of blogs. As I see it, you have 3 choices: a) you can read all my nonsense (this is your best choice but I'm not gonna tell you what to do), or b) you can read it but skip large portions of it (this is also not a bad choice), and lastly, c) you don't have to read it at all. (Now that's just silly). Now my conscience is clear and I can write whatever my little heart desires.

This is the "bird garden" I put in 2 years ago and it's beginning to come into it's own.

Sorry about the reflection but I took it from inside the house because that was the only way to get the whole garden in one picture.

I filled this garden with plants and shrubs that birds love. On the far left there is a group of Gold Mound Spirea which are now blooming and the rest of the time they just have the beautiful chartruse green leaves which makes a great
contrast.

Just to give equal time to wood, here is a picture of "something":

When I show my works of art to my Mr., he always says, "it's something all right". That's a safe answer because I know he's actually paying attention (you know what I'm sayin???) plus it's general enough not to cause any offense. (Like I'm really paying attention to what he thinks? Not.) Anyway, it's supposed to resemble a salt box house and I only built it because.....oh wait, I'm not sure why I built it. It just needed to be done. But there you have it. Actually, I have it and at present it sits by my front door. Or not.

Now, just a quick teaser concerning fiber arts and I will NEVER talk about mending blue jeans - which my Mr. thinks is in my job description. What a HOOT!

I have a VERY GOOD FRIEND who is an author. (That's a lie and I'm sorry about that). Actually, I wrote to her once when it was 30 below zero here. Toni lives in Louisiana and I generously offered to be her houseguest for the rest of the winter. Well, she did reply to my offer (negatively) and our relationship started to go downhill from that point on. Her name is Toni McGee Causey and she has hilarrious books (look for her in Target or Amazon or any of those bookie places.) The first book is called "Charmed & Dangerous". But she did send me a book and to thank her I made a mini-quilt where each block represents the theme of a book in her 3-book series. By the way, each block is only 4" square. Took more than an evening let me tell you. Always up for a challenge tho. BTW, Toni did not pay me for this free advertising. Maybe NOW she'll let me live with her in the winter. ???
I warned you about me having nothing to say so you have only yourself to blame if you read this all the way to the end. Rest assured that I'll probably write again when I have nothing to say.

welcome and nice to meet you! I grew up in Winnipeg so I can't use the up hill both ways to school either. I moved to Thunder Bay though when I was 12 so in High School I did have to walk both ways and alot more than a mile each way and there were hills!!
I love your mini blocks! Your bird garden looks lovely, I've just started my gardening hobby myself. I thought I'd better get at it just incase I need an extra hobby someday too :)

Just to let you know that your blog is very hard to read because of the black lettering against the dark red background. Unfortunately I was only able to look at the pictures because of that. I loved the pics...wish I could read what you wrote, though.
Good luck with your blog.

Welcome to Blogland Faye. Your writing is amazing and so witty. Suggestion: Keep the entries and once collected, publish. Yes, your writing is that good. On your Mr. I had one of those, "it sure is something." Unfortunately, he is no longer in this realm. Blessings, Jan
