One ringey-dingey. Two ringey-dingies. A Gracious Hello! Have I reached the party to whom I am speaking? Lily Tomlin as Ernestine the telephone operator - she still cracks me up. Do you remember? The sour look on her face? The snort with the laugh? The hairdo? When's the last time you saw something that funny on TV? Maybe I've turned into one of those old people who start each sentence with: why, back in my day.............I had to walk 2 miles to my one room school and it was uphill both ways!! Wait a minute - I did go to a one-room school! No hills tho, we lived in the Red River Valley - flat as a table. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I'm not as old as that makes me sound but I'll never see 20 again. Or 30. Or 40. Yikes.

Hi Faye, I loved Lily T, and you're right, not much very funny on TV anymore. I didn't know there was really a place called Red River Valley...I wonder if that's where the song comes from??? My parents used the 5 miles to school in the snow, on my brothers and me when we were growing up. One time when I was visiting my grandparents, I drove from the street my parents grew up on to their high school, just to see how far it was...it wasn't 5 miles, but it was 3+ miles and they really did walk in the snow. Burrrrrrrr! As for age...age is a state of mind...that we all loose at some point in time...so I guess age doesn't really matter...I guess...Welcome to blogland;)
Hi Faye: I came to visit by way of the Yellow Farmhouse--such a nice stroll! I too have friends that say I must begin a blog--and I will--in the summer; I just haven't specified which summer! I already love your blog and have bookmarked it! I will be following! Congratulations and best wishes from my quilt room to yours!
Hello Faye, I also came by way of Yellow Farm House and she was right, you are an excellent writer and very humorous. Lily T. is also a fav of mine. Tells you that I am a person of some age ! I also love quilts and have made small wall hangers for my daughter but I am not as doing it any longer. Also love running the ban saw and creating stuff. I love your bird houses. The more rustic, the better. I will follow your blog. I have one but never learned how to enter anything.
xxoo Lilly
Hugs from N.C.
A gracious Hello and Welcome to blogland from Northwest Georgia. I got here by way of Yellow Farmhouse. It is so nice to be able to visit places I will probably never see in person.
