What day is it? OMG, I started a quilt on Monday and finished it last night. Yeah Me!! One lap quilt for Christmas – check. Now on to quilt #2. Like I said – what day is it? Should I have started these sooner? Duh. I can spell p.r.o.c.r.a.s.t.i.n.a.t.i.o.n. Can you? So anyway, I was sewing away on my project and my hubs said I think I’ll pick up a pizza for supper. Why, I asked sweetly, did you think I wasn’t going to cook? He said, no, I was afraid you were! Oh, the comedy is stacking up deep here. But I gotta admit, my plan was working well on how to get out of cooking. My mama didn’t raise no dummy.
So, here’s quilt #1.
For quilt #2, I sent away for a jelly roll used in a quilt I saw in a picture. Well guess what? The fabric doesn’t look like I thought it would and I’m disappointed. Went to the local quilt shop to pick up a few pieces to add to this to make it better. I didn’t find much. So, I was disappointed again. I wanted a few reds – not fire engine red, not orange-red or pink-red or brown-red or purple-red. Just a “nice” red. Is that too much to ask? I also wanted some blacks that had some interest and even a few quite plain blacks. Disappointed some more. I guess it’s like shopping for anything when you know exactly what you want and you’re sure you will find it, then search all over town and come up empty.
I really enjoy Christmas decorating but it’s a total disaster for a couple days while I’m tossing things around. Here’s a couple pictures to show where stuff landed:
So, it’s late, I’ve been gone all day and didn’t feel like taking more pictures. Especially wouldn’t want to disturb my Mr. while he’s watching the “big game”. HOWEVER, I was at Mrs. Farmhouse’s today for our Christmas gathering of the Bent Needles. Only 6 of us today but you’d never know it by the noise level. We do have ourselves a good time. I asked if it was ok if I just walked around and took pictures and she that would be fine but not in her bedroom since Mr. Farmhouse was taking a shower. Oops. But I did mention that my readers are a little quirky (otherwise why would they be reading this?) and they’d probably enjoy a racy photo. Permission was denied. So I made do with a few shots of her outstanding (green with envy here) Christmas decorating. If you also read Ms. Karen’s blog, just close your eyes now and head on over to see her photo’s at yellowfarmhouse.typepad.com
There’s a lot more to see at the Yellow Farmhouse but like I said, head on over to Mrs. Farmhouse’s blog and check it out. She has a wonderful talent.
We had a couple items for show & tell today as well and all were made beautifully by Ms. Dawn:
Saving the best for last. I promised to have a drawing to win this little snowguy:
I asked Hubs to pick a number between 1 and 15. He came up with number 9. Donna you win this little guy and I will send it off to you when I get your address. Find me at kempfarm@agwireless.net
That’s all for today girls. I think I will go look at some cookbooks and scare my husband. teeheehee

Oh, I am so glad I came to visit. I had not been in a while--went to Pinterest.
Thanks for some great laughs--I needed that. Love your quilt and the pictures of your decorations. I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year.
Love, Marie
