Give Away–from me to you

I say to myself – why don’t you just close down this blog, you haven’t written since last July.  Then I say to myself, but I had so much fun and met so many great people, I don’t want to close it down.  So I flipped a coin.  Win or lose I guess I’m keeping the blog – if there is still anyone out there who reads it.  I did kinda fall into the Pinterest trap – it’s so addictive and I’ve found there are so many blogs in the world that look so professional and have a gazillion readers and great tips & ideas.  But like Popeye says, I yam what I yam!

Jack of all trades & Master of None?  Not me by golly.  As of Tuesday night, I am not an intern any more, I am a…….

Yessirree Bobby – after a year of study & volunteerism, that high quality plastic name badge is mine, all mine!  Not only did I get my official name badge, I was given my very own copy of the 2013 U of M Gardening Calendar

DSC03322    Truly this is a great calendar full of beautiful pictures, tips & information about plants.  It also comes with a booklet about Hardy plants for Minnesota and what new varieties are being developed.  And isn’t that June calendar page beautiful?   DSC03323

Anyone can order this calendar through the U of M gardening site  http://blog.lib.umn.edu/efans/ygnews/  altho if you’re from Texas or Alabama or Oregon or pretty much any other state it might not be especially helpful for your area.    Still, what can it hurt, right?

How about a little eye candy from last summer?  I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves……………..

I’ve been so busy since July that I really don’t know how to catch up.  We did a couple major (for us) DIY house projects.  I’ll show & tell them another time.   With a dry summer there was a lot of time spent watering flowers.  Then harvest.  Then sugarbeet harvest is when the fun really begins as I also work in the field.  Sad smile But this is my last year for that.  I gave them 51 weeks notice to find a replacement.  I mean it this time!  Then I was hard at work in my woodshop making sawdust and other crap for the Old Crow Mercantile – which we just wrapped up on Saturday.

Old Crow Ad for Facebook

There were 6 of us old crows who are good friends and also like to make the world a better place – or just like to make stuff!  Besides, my philosophy is that if I am busy “making stuff”, then I don’t need to be “making” the bed or “making” dinner or “making” the house spiffy.  You get my drift.  It’s a win-win for me.  (poor Mr. Picket Fence!)

So, on the to give-away drawing I am having to say “welcome back”.  I made a whole flock of these for the Old Crow dealey and I have only a couple left.

If you leave a comment anytime before next Friday, the 14th, you will be entered in the drawing to win one of these snowguys.  More next time about the Old Crow whatcha-ma-dealey thing.  It was great and I discovered I have some gol-darn talented friends.  I’m so glad I get to hang out with them.

Good Luck my friends!
